Windey Joins Hands with The World's Largest Port to Create A "Zero Carbon Port Zone"
Recently, Windey won the bid for Ningbo-Zhoushan Port "Waterway transport port - Ship multi-energy integration technology and integrated application" demonstration application project, will cooperate with the world's largest port - Ningbo-Zhoushan Port to jointly build a zero-carbon port and zero-carbon port area, boosting Ningbo-Zhoushan Port to be a "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutrality" demonstration port in the global port industry.
The project uses two WD190-6250 WTGS that are independently developed by Windey. This type of WTGS is designed to prevent salt spray in the special coastal environment, which can effectively extend the service life of the WTGS. After putting into operation, the project is expected to provide 23 million KWH of green electricity annually, which is equivalent to saving about 7673.6 tons of standard coal and reducing 21,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Ningbo-Zhoushan Port is one of the main hub ports in China. By 2022, the port’s cargo throughput has ranked first in the world for 14 consecutive years, and its container throughput the third. As a former large energy consumer, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port insists on green and high-quality development, and is striving to achieve energy saving, carbon reduction and green transformation. It is reported that Ningbo-Zhoushan Port "Waterway transport port - Ship multi-energy integration technology and integrated application" demonstration application project is listed as a national key research project. Relying on the platform of" Wind, Light and Storage Integration" system, the project is targeted to realize green energy supply of the whole wharf by building a series of integrated energy stations integrating wind power, photovoltaic, hydrogen production, hydrogenation and gas filling and planning a variety of distributed renewable energy systems according to local conditions. The project as a whole is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
